Mindfulness Meditation Teacher

Patrick Ungo O’Shea

Patrick is certified by ZLMC as a “Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher”.

Patrick was born in Ireland and came to the United States in 1986. He worked in construction for 30 years before retiring in 2019. His spiritual journey began in a Mahayana Buddhist tradition in 2017, one that placed particular emphasis on lojong (mind training). After reading the works of Thich Nhat Hanh, Patrick was inspired to shift his practice and joined the  ZLMC in 2019, where he continues to practice today.

Patrick also credits his dog as one of his best teachers. His son lives in Milwaukee, and Patrick now brings his deep life experience, along with his dedication to Buddhist practice, to his community.Jacqui has been a member of ZLMC for over 6 years; receiving Jukai and the name Genshin in September 2023 while co-stewarding the Open Heart Circle.  An Oak Park resident; she has a step-son that lives in Wisconsin and spends her free time with her dog Declan, doing jigsaw puzzles, exercising, and enjoying outings with her family and friends.
