Mindfulness Meditation Teacher

Kathy Dull

Kathy is certified by ZLMC as a “Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher”.

Kathy Dull (she/her) joined Zen Life and Meditation Center in 2020, seeking to deepen a meditation practice that she began seventeen years ago, when she was pregnant with her second child. Through ZLMC she discovered a welcoming sangha community and practical teachings that have provided an invaluable support on her parenting journey and in life. She is a ZLMC certified Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher and has also studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is co-steward of the Parenting as Practice Circle with Karleen Manchanda and organizes the Family Morning Zen program. She also participates in the Kinship and Poetry Circles at ZLMC.

Kathy holds an MFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University and has taught students ranging in age from middle school to adult. She has also worked in schools and non-profits in various roles supporting parents and children. Her greatest teachers have been her two teenaged children, who continue to inspire and challenge her daily. As a Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher at ZLMC, she is especially interested in providing a welcoming space for parents and caregivers to develop their practice amidst the difficulties of modern family life. She lives in Oak Park with her family.
