She worked in institutional investing for over ten years, later deciding to pursue her interest in poetry and teaching at George Mason University, where she received an MFA in Creative Writing. She has taught and facilitated college, high-school, and middle school courses, and tutored students in a variety of subjects.  She has enjoyed supporting parents and children through work in schools and for local non-profits.
