Dharma Teacher, Zen Priest in White Plum Lineage
Jitsujo T. Gauthier
Jitsujo T. Gauthier (she/they) is a Dharma Teacher, Zen priest, and Preceptor transmitted by Roshi Wendy Egyoku Nakao within the White Plum Asanga lineage. She serves as Co-Spiritual Director and Seat-Holders for the Zen Peacemaker Order, and holds membership in the Buddhist Spiritual Care Educators of North America.
She works at the University of the West, as an Associate Professor and Chair of Buddhist Chaplanincy, where she teaches master and doctorate courses in Buddhist Homiletics, Ministry, Spiritual Formation, Zen Buddhism, Interfaith Rituals, and Engaged Compassion.
A committed community builder, she is the founder of a Facing Whiteness group, and more recently, Prism Zen Circle — a nomadic sitting and social action collective based in Los Angeles. Her ongoing work centers on practice and pedagogy that invite more tenderness, adventure, and breath, to see the complexity of world as our classroom.
