Mindfulness Meditation Teacher

Ericka Menchen-Trevino

Ericka is certified by ZLMC as a “Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher”.

Ericka began her meditation practice at the Zen Buddhist Temple in Chicago while she was a Ph.D. student in the Media, Technology, and Society program at Northwestern University's School of Communication in 2010. In 2012, she moved to the Netherlands and was an Assistant Professor at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

In 2015, she returned to the U.S. and was a professor in the Washington D.C. area. In 2023, she returned to the Chicago area, and in 2024, she co-founded a non-profit organization and began teaching part-time at the University of Illinois Chicago. She became a member of the Zen Life and Meditation Center of Chicago in 2024 and completed the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher training at ZLMC in 2025.
