Daniel Good

Daniel is certified by ZLMC as a “Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher”.

Dan Good has been an active member of the Zen Life & Meditation Center community since 2020. A lifelong Oak Park resident, Dan is currently doing koan study with Rev. Diane Myogetsu Bejcek and finds deep enrichment in the teachings and sangha at ZLMC.

Dan holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his focus was Combinatorial Mathematics. He taught mathematics at the University of Illinois, Benedictine University, and Triton College before transitioning to Actuarial Science. In 2010, he attained Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries and currently serves as Chief Actuary for a national health insurance carrier.

Outside of his professional and meditation practice, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife Kelly, their two children, and two dogs. He stays active playing tennis and has maintained a lifelong passion for piano and guitar.
