The Zen Life & Meditation Center of Chicago is pleased to announce a NEW series of yoga classes taught by Donata Boykin at the Zen Center at 38 Lake Street. These classes will be taught as a four class series on Saturday mornings from 8 to 9 am beginning Jan. 7, 2012. The other three classes will continue on Jan. 14, 21 and 28.
Yoga in the west is best known through the practice of various postures. In this series of classes we will explore poses that will enchance our sitting postures. We'll explore postures for hips, lower back, neck and legs. By learning these postures we'll open to an experience of meditation that is firm, stable and resolute leading to increased relaxation and restfulness in the practice of meditation itself. When the body is able to relax into the seated posture of meditation it gives rise to many benefits that deepen and enhance your meditation practice.
