Fridays With Roshi

PDFPrintE-mail

Once a month, our teacher, Robert Joshin Althouse Roshi gathers with friends and students to facilitate a public exploration of how to live a Zen-inspired life. He sometimes uses Zen stories, and sometimes uses whatever seems to be the live questions in the group. Joshin Roshi draws from Focusing, Nonviolent Communication and Big Mind process to facilitate a lively discussion during the evening event.

Two sides of our human experience are examined in this evening event. These two sides are the horizontal and the vertical, self and no-self, absolute and relative. These two sides of ourselves need to be well integrated in order to live a Zen-inspired life of openness, empathy and clarity. Joshin Roshi draws heavily on the Big Mind process which is uniquely designed to explore these two sides of our experience.

Roshi will facilitate this exploration in a way that allows you to have your own experience of the teaching. So the evening is completely experiential, which makes it an extremely powerful tool for further personal integration.

We think you'll be delightfully surprised at how inspiring Zen can be. So please join us and bring a friend.
