Writing

Below are suggestions for writing topics in your own personal "Gratitude Journal."

Daily Gratitude Practice: Write down something for which you are grateful.

This Week's Reflection

Write a short reflection on the assignment this week:

  • How might Burke's talk inform how we show up in our communities?
  • How might understanding Adverse Childhood Experience(s) contribute to our compassion practice and influence how we engage with others?

Awareness

Formal Practice: 3–5 times this week do a 10–minute meditation

Informal Practice: Become an observer of yourself and your environment

Be On Time

For one week, work at being on time for all events on your calendar, and those maybe not on your calendar. Consider what ‘being on time’ means to you and others. Watch what prevents you from being on time, and what arises in the mind when you or other people are late. (If you are a person who is always on time, you might try being a few minutes late and see what happens, internally and externally.)
