Council Curriculum: Week 22

Theme of the Week: Energetic/Spiritual Awareness: "agape love" — loving those I don't like; interconnection, one-body

Council Prompt of the Week

For use during your circle this week.

"Imagine a person that's annoying in my life — someone in the future, that person shows up and things feel different . . . who and how could it play out?"

Suggested Study and Practice

With this week's topic in mind, below you will find material that we invite you to explore and practice on your own

or with a small group. If possible, try to do so prior to your weekly Council circle.

Writing

Below are suggestions for writing topics in your own personal "Gratitude Journal."

Daily Gratitude Practice: Write down something for which you are grateful.

This Week's Reflection

Write a short reflection on the assignment this week:

  • Iliff's talk on sleep might create some anxiety or guilt about our own sleep habits. Is this the case?
  • Does our self-compassion influence how we view sleep

Awareness

Formal Practice: 3–5 times this week do a 10–minute meditation

Informal Practice: Become an observer of yourself and your environment

Water

pen your awareness to water, in all its forms, both inside and outside of your body and dwelling. Become aware of liquidity, in food, drinks, and in your environment. Can we appreciate this life-giving gift, given each day by earth and sky?
